This is a basic Hawaiian conversation class with Kumu Kēhau Shintani for three (3) students max who have completed Mokuna 1-8 of Nā Kai ʻEwalu via our self-directed online chapter modules, or equivalent thereof, and who wish to increase their level of comfort and confidence in formulating and using basic Hawaiian sentence structures.
This class consists of 6 meetings via Google+ Hangouts On Air (HOA). Each class will be recorded to YouTube and archived for private review.
Proper pronunciation and basic conversational skills will be covered in this online class based on the papa ʻōlelo (vocabulary lists), ʻōlelo pōkole (short phrases) and pāpāʻōlelo (dialogues) from Mokuna 1-8 of the Nā Kai ʻEwalu textbook. Short simple speeches will also be composed and recited throughout the 8 sessions. The language of instruction will be in English with some Hawaiian at this level.
